

Alumni Meeting Notes- March 13, 2008
1. September 20, 2008 will be the Fall 4-H Camp Harvest Day. Save the date, more to be announced. We are looking for
extra hands to help in planning.
2. Looking ahead to 2009… 85th Camp Reunion- September 26, 2009 and we are looking into possible overnight at
camp for a limited number of families. Help wanted! Tentative time of the Saturday day event will be 10:30am-4:30pm
and will include a picnic-type catered lunch. The next planning meeting for the 85th Camp Reunion will be April 15 at 7:
30pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Training Center, 247 Woodlawn Road, West Hempstead, NY 11552. We
welcome more people to help in the planning.
3. 2008 Summer 4-H Camp is accepting registrations for boys and girls grades 4-10! Visit our updated camp website
www.dpf4hcamp.org for complete registration information. Discount fees for camp sessions end April 15th. Open
Houses dates are March 29, May 3, May 31- families can come and learn about our summer camp program from 1-4pm
on these dates.
4. Our camp website www.dpf4hcamp.org has a Camp Alumni section. We will be posting messages (like this one) to
reach more camp alumni. Let your friends/former campers and camp staff know about this website.
5. Camp Work Weekends… Volunteers are welcome to help get camp ready for Open Houses. The next work weekend
is March 15-16 with Friday overnight stay for volunteers over 18 years old- or be at camp by 9:30am on Saturday. Let Rob

4-H Camp Alumni Special Notes
Don O'Callaghan became the grandfather of twins- Frank Jr. and Katie Elizabeth born March 5th to his daughter Kelly and
her husband Frank. Frank Jr. and Katie Elizabeth have a "big sister" Mary! Welcome twins!
With sadness we let you know that Mona (Leftoff) Greenberg passed away in late February. She was a camper, staff
member and since the early 1980’s was on the staff of Cornell Cooperative Extension where she continued to have links
to the 4-H Camp program. Donations in her memory will be used to place a bench near the camp office and for 4-H
Camperships. Donations can be sent to Cornell Cooperative Extension, Att: Mona Greenberg Memorial Fund, 40 Main St-
Lower Level, Hempstead, NY 11550.
