Summer Camp Employment

A little about DPF Nassau County 4-H Camp...
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County has been serving campers for 84
years! Each summer, over 90 staff members throughout the United States and from
around the world join together to provide a special experience for nearly 1,500 campers.
Why work at camp?
You may find that working at summer camp is one of the most rewarding experiences of
your life. Believe it or not, working at camp will provide you with essential skills needed for
your future!
According to the book, Who's Going to Run General Motors?, by Kenneth C. Green and
Daniel T. Seymour (Peterson's Guides, 1991), corporations are looking for the following
skills from recent graduates:
- Communication
- Change
- Leadership
- Globalization
- Teamwork
- Problem Solving
- Technology
We are just one of many camps that are looking for summer camp staff, and we hope that
the information contained in these pages will give you a glimpse into our life at the
